The week’s topic made me think correctly about social media. A simple definition of social media I could say that social media is an internet application that we use for sharing information, it could be inculde: text messeage,photos,videos, music,graphics, game acts….Today, we could find easily a lots websites with wild and mysterious name such as: facebook, youtube, Twitter, Google wave,….All of them are under heading of social media.
With above those position of strength social media has quikly become a popular style of communication. According to Shih (2009) refers to social media s ‘fourth revoltion’ giving the following sequencs:
1970s – mainframe computers as dominant mode
1980s – personal computing as dominnt mode
1990s – internet as the dominant mode
2000s – social networking as the dominant mode.
However, in fact there are two opposite ideas about social media.

states that “ The Social web will become the primary centre of activity for whatever
you do when you shop, plan, learn or commnicate …..”(2009,p.706).

Therefore, To have more right wiew about social media we should know as well as
good and bad points of social media.
The first good point we can mention that social media help everyone connect together
overcome the” tyramy of distance”: for example, we can contact to family,
friend…thousands of kilometers away. In addition, it gives everyone opportunities to
express themselves and report on the world that was unthinkable until quite recently.
Furthermore, it help people more confident in using of technology. it enhances
homophity between like-minded indiviaual (Thelwall 2009)
The first bad point and most important is security issue of social website. hacking and
phishing are becoming more common. Users could be stolen personal information or
could be swindled online. It is difficult to define a information is wrong or right on
internet. secondly, Users may be become more attached to virtual reality rather than
reality itself that there is a big affect to their life.
Overall, social media is changing their life, it is not also challege but also chance for
