Vikrant’s Indian trip with the Australian Film Festival of India

Dr Vikrant Kishore spent his summer in India, spreading the word about Australian film. An initiative of the Australian Film Festival of India (AFFI), and supported by Destination NSW and the University of Newcastle, Vikrant took the AAFI to various cities, Universities and colleges in India including the International Polytechnic and the Vivekanand Institute of Professional Studies in New Delhi, as well as the University of Ranchi.

The University of Ranchi

Vikrant introduced Australian films, including Rabbit Proof Fence, at the University of Ranchi. Students and staff members of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University took a big role in organising the event and Vikrant took the opportunity to launch his latest book From Real to Reel: Folk Dances of India in Bollywood Cinema.

The International Polytechnic, New Delhi

Vikrant took part in a film screening and media workshop for the students of International Polytechnic.

 Vivekanand Institute of Professional Studies, New Delhi

Films including Rabbit Proof Fence and Rover for media students of VIPS at an interactive symposium style session.
